‘Gintama’ Live-Action Film Coming to the West!

The long wait is over. The official website of the live-action movie adaptation of the Gintama manga confirmed that the movie will be screened in the Canada, Germany, South America, Spain, and the United States.

As of this time, no screen dates have been released so far for the mentioned countries.
The movie premiered in Japan on July 14 and instantly earned 980 million yen in its first four days of screening. Later it on, the movie was then premiered in other Asian countries like Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

China will be having a nationwide screening premiere of the movie on September 1 which will be the largest opening day for a Japanese live-action film so far. An early preview of the movie happened during the Fantasia International Film Festival last July in Canada.

The Gintama live-action film is based from the popular manga series of the same name created by Hideaki Sorachi in 2004. It has sold over more than 50 million copies in Japan and the manga is also been released in English by Viz Media with over 23 volumes for far. Last July, the manga has reached its final arc and 69th volume was released in Japan in the same month.
