4 Haikyuu! Works to Air on AbemaTV Starting August 19

AbemaTV is bringing back volleyball series, “Haikyuu!” to TV screens once more with a special broadcast of not one but four works of the series on August 19. The broadcast will be shown on the internet TV’s “Anime 24” channel and will be starting at midnight.

To commemorate the broadcast, an official Twitter account was made for AbemaTV and for those who not only follow and retweet from the account but also make comments while watching the broadcast will have a chance to win a “Karasuno and Shiratorizawa High School Jersey.”

All four works will be shown in the broadcast and consist of the the following: the theatrical version of “The End and the Beginning”, the first episode of the series and the beginning of Hinata Shouyo’s journey to becoming as great a volleyball player as his idol, the former number 10 of Karasuno High School.

Another theatrical version of an episode which is “Winner and Losers”, the 16th episode of the second season where Karasuno are going against one of the top teams in terms of defense Datekou.
Then there is the entirety of the second season where Karasuno gain the chance to train against the top teams in Tokyo and gain new skills in their journey towards the top and reaching nationals.

Lastly is the “Karasuno High VS Shiratorizawa High” episode, where the Karasuno team faces off against one of the top 8 teams in Japan, Shiratorizawa, a team which holds the number one ace in the Miyagi prefecture, Wakatoshi Ushijima.

“Haikyuu!” is a sports series written and illustrated by Haruichi and serialized by Weekly Shounen Jump in February 2012. It was in April 2014 that the manga series gained an anime adaptation which recently ended in December 2010. The series tells the tale of one Hinata Shouyo, a a short in height but tall in enthusiasm middle schooler who was inspired into entering the world of volleyball upon seeing a game played by Karasuno’s number 10 on television.

After three years of training he aims to enter into Karasuno but before that he takes on his first volleyball match against a top school holding on Kageyama Tobio, the “King of the Court.” As he is soundly beaten by the setter, he declares that he will one day surpass Kageyama but upon entering into Karasuno he finds that Kageyama has entered as well.
