Not 1 But 4 Stories Revealed for Free! -Take Your Marks-

The stories are out for the upcoming “Free! -Take Your Marks-” anime film as the official website for the work releases a teaser video with a narration of the film’s four stories done by characters Coach Sasabe who is voiced by Hiroshi Yanaka and Amakata-sensei who is voiced by Satsuki Yukino.

Along with the release of a teaser stream and stories, a key visual, cast and staff was also revealed on the website. With the film set to be released in Japan on October 8, Eisaku Kawanami takes on the role of director, having previously directed the two previous “Free! -Timeless Medley-” films. Kyoto Animation and Animation DO will be taking on the production and staff member from the previous medley films, Masahiro Yokotani will be taking on the scripts once more.

Returning as the character designer and chief animator for the film is Futoshi Nishiya along with Tatsuya Katou as the music composer. For the theme song which is titled “Free-Style Spirit”, it will be performed by the group Style Five.

Also returning in the new film is the cast members for main eight cast members of the Iwatobi High School Swim Club and Samezuka Academy Swim Club. Yoshimasu Hosoya, the voice of Sousuke will also be making his return since his announcement in April of having to undergo throat treatment.

The story of the film takes place in March and focuses on Haruka’s side of things as graduation nears and how he is dealing with that fact. With this as a main point of the film, the four stories tells of characters during early spring and their moments before entering into the next chapter of their lives.

For the first story of the film titled “Unmei no Choice!” or “Fateful Choice!”, it takes focus on Haruka and his search for a place to live in Tokyo as begins college in the next month. When is recommended to a real estate agent by Coach Sasabe, he meets an unexpected character.

In “Hitō no Cooling Down!” or “Cooling Down at the Secret Hot Spring!”, the second story, the focus goes to Aiichirou and Momotarou in there search for a graduation present for Rin and Sousuke. While trying to figure out on what present would surprise the two, Momotarou wins a premium lottery.

“Kessoku no Butterfly!” a.k.a “United Butterfly!”, the third story of the film tells how in the start of April, Rei, Nagisa and Gou will be the only members left on the Iwatobi High School Swim Club. With this in mind the trio set out to recruit new members by coming  up with an invitation promotional but trouble seems to have arisen.

The fourth and final story for the film titled, “Tabidachi no Eternal Blue!” a.k.a “The Eternal Blue of Journeys to Come!” tells of the members of the Iwatobi High Swim Club planning a surprise farewell party for Rin before he leaves for Australia. However, the party may not go as planned as Gou and Momotarou are spotted by Rin during their errand run for the party.
