“UFO Warrior Dai Apolon”, “Chōgattai Majutsu Robo Ginguiser”, “Gasshin Sentai Mechander Robo”, and “Blocker Gundan 4 Machine Blaster” four anime once simply known as 1970’s classics featuring mecha.
Now they are being attempted to be brought into the modern age of TV with a three-way collaboration between Eiken, Nippon Animation, and Wako Productions. Called as the “Miracle Robot Force” project, it has just revealed a new animation crowdfunding effort and a new theme song performed by Mitsuko Horie.

Before any further details, here are some details on the four anime being focused on. “UFO Warrior Dai Apolon” is a mecha anime series released in 1997 with a total of 47 episodes. The tale of this series tells of a young man named Takeshi and how he discovers that not just an American football player but rather an alien prince spirited away to earth for his protection. With his newly discovered abilities, he and his friends are able to form the powerful named Dai Apolon and together they make it their mission to save the world.

Released in 1977 “Chōgattai Majutsu Robo Ginguiser” had a total of how three artifacts known as the “Spheres of Anderes” end up missing. In order to retrieve their creation, the Sazoriani lead an invasion of mechanical beasts towards earth. In defense of the planet, four children with magical abilities known as Goro Shigoron, Miki Akitsu, Torajiro Haranami and Zanta are entrusted with the mecha Ginguiser.

With “Gasshin Sentai Mechander Robo”, otherwise known as “Mechander Robo”, the series was released in 1977 and spanned for a total of 35 episodes. The series tells of a twist to the usual alien invasion as not only the aliens known as the Doron Empire take over the earth, but they rigged the Earth’s surface with energy-detecting satellites programmed to lob hugely destructive payloads. Now the mecha, Merchander’s crew has just minutes before total annihilation.

Lastly “Blocker Gundan 4 Machine Blaster”, released in 1976 with a total of 38 episodes, tells of the invasion of super advanced people that live beneath the ocean known as the Mogul civilization. Following research of ancient super technology, a team of four super robots, piloted by four youth pilots named the Machine Blaster Corps was created for the defense against the Moguls.

For its crowdfunding effort, it seeks to produce an animated music video featuring the Miracle Robot Force by earning 5,550,000 yen (about $50,000 US). Should this goal be met, a 90 second anime music video featuring the talents of director Masami Ōbari, character designer Kazuhiro Ochi, and mechanical designer Masahiro Yamane will be produced.

The theme song release for the project and featuring lyrics by Nagae Kuwahara, composition by Chuumei Watanabe, and arrangement by Hiroaki Kagoshima is titled “Youyaku! Miracle Robot Force” and will be having a short form version available until July 30 as part of the Miracle Robot Force crowd-funding efforts.
