Prior to having taken the win for the Media category in the awards, “Shin Godzilla” has also won seven awards out of its 11 nominations, including Picture of the Year and Director of the Year at the 40th Japan Academy Prize. Not only that but it has been recognized for becoming the highest-grossing live-action Japanese film of 2016.
