A new anime made for the vertical screen has made its way to “Tate Anime” (Vertical Anime) smartphone app of the Japane anime studio Production I.G. Entitled as “Enoshimanz” the mini series first began its stream on Monday and will run for a total of five episodes with a new episode to come out every week.
The anime tells the story of three types of jellyfish; the first, is a moon jellyfish that goes by the name of Mizukurage, the second is a north sea nettle named Akakurage and the third is an unnamed pacific sea nettle.The three are frequent visitors of the Enoshima Aquarium, the setting of this story. So much do they visit the location that they actually gained annual passes for the location.
Enoshima Aquarium is an actual location to which the anime based off on and promoting is located at the Kanagawa Prefecture. Many tanks filled with diverse sea creatures are found at this aquarium and among them is a hall dedicated to jellyfish.
As for the app which is currently streaming the anime, “Tate Anime”, it was first released on June 5 and aimed towards people who do not have time to watch television or do not own a television.
Featured in the app are different anime shorts which last around three minutes and updates every weekday until the short reaches to a total of 10 episodes. On another note, all anime in the app are presented vertically for smartphones.
Production I.G, the Japanese anime studio responsible for the “Tate Anime” app was first established in December 15, 1987, by Mitsuhisa Ishikawa. The name of the company is in fact derived from the founders name and the name of popular character designer Takayuki Goto.
Located in Musashino, Tokyo, Japan, the studio is recognized for its creation of numerous anime television series, OVAs, theatrical films, and is further involved in video game design and development, as well as music publishing and management.
In terms of anime series, the studio is well known to have worked on the action series “Ghost in Shell” and the action drama series “Guilty Crown.”
