During the month of April, a collaboration was announced between the popular “Real Escape Game” and the long running mystery series, “Detective Conan.” Now that partnership continues as an anime special is announced with a special broadcasting linked to the “Escape from London Metropolitan Police Department” of the “Real Escape Game.” Title initially translated as, be “a bomb that jumps out of the picture book” the anime is set to be released in the second half of the winter season.
Prior to the event and episode however, it has been announced that the official website of the program has released a special mystery solving project “Detective Test”. Available for four weeks from July 8 to August 26, it will be testing the detective abilities of participants.
The quiz will be taken by the production team of “Escape from the London Metropolitan Police Department” and for those who are able to make it through for the first few questions, there will be a final round where a participant has a chance to win a prize through a lottery question.
To be held on July 30 in 31 cities nationwide, starting with Tokyo; the “Escape from London Metropolitan Police Department” of the “Real Escape Game.” takes from the story of the anime special wherein the villain of the book has planted three bombs in a theme park. For the animation itself its broadcast will be the decision for the special episode linked to the game.
“Detective Conan” is a mystery series which first began as a manga written and illustrated by Gosho Aoyama and serialized by Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday on January 19, 1994. It was in January 1996, that the first anime series for the franchise was created and until now both manga and anime are still running. The take of the series tells of high school genius Shinichi Kudo and how he was turned into a child. Donning the name Conan Edogawa, this is the tale of his mystery solving adventures as a child once more.
The official website of the “Real Escape Game” describes itself as:
“A unique and interactive live puzzle event where teams solve mysteries and clues within a time limit. The beauty of the game is that you are actually physically inside the story. You and your fellow players are heroes who must escape from a place filled with challenging puzzles and obstacles. The objective is to find and solve the mystery in order to escape within the time allotted. Players are encouraged to work in teams to crack the puzzles more efficiently, and a Game Master directs gameplay to add a touch of drama.”
