The “Re: Zero – Starting Life in Another World’s” franchise has steadily grown in popularity since its first release in April 2012 as a novel series created by Tappei Nagatsuki. Now the franchise has a total of 200,000 followers in its official Twitter which has just released two newly-drawn illustrations of Emilia and Rem, two of the main female characters of the series.
A post which serves as a preview to what to expect in the upcoming release of the box for “Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World: Shinichirou Otsuka Art Works Re:BOX,” the first art book of the illustrator for the light novel series of the franchise.
As stated, the franchise first began as a novel and light novel series created in April 2012 and January 2014 respectively by Tappei Nagatsuki. Following the release of the novels came a total of three mangas released in 2014 – 2015 with a total of 11 volumes combined.
It was in April 2016 that an anime adaptation for the franchise was created and spanned for a total of 25 episodes before ending on September 29, 2016.
The story of the series takes focus on a loner young man by the name of Subaru Natsuki who spends his days doing nothing but play games. Like in many tales a great event occurs to him one day while he is out doing a regular activity, in this case, getting items while at the convenience store.
Upon exiting the store Natsuki finds himself summoned to another world and finds himself way over his head as upon arrival he us accosted by thieves and being armed with only groceries and his cellphone, is quickly beaten. Luckily enough for him, he is saved by a silver haired beauty named Satella who was in hot pursuit of a thief. In his path to express his gratitude Natsuki marks the beginning of his adventure in a new world.
For the set about the be released in Japan on September 23, more than containing an art book featuring the main characters of the Re: Zero series, two novels books containing short stories are part of the set as well.
The 450 – paged novels which were previously never included in bunko editions were released as bonus items for purchasers at selected stores. Overall, the set is priced at 4,320 yen.
