Synopsis
Here is a tale familiar to many, a princess is captured by a demon king so powerful that no ordinary soldier could battle him. Thus the king summons for the help of a great hero and with his group they manage to save the princess in far lesser time than expected. As the hero kneels before the king, the king tells him that in return for saving his daughter the hero would be granted any wish. Many expect him to propose to the princess, but instead, he proposes to… a maid?!
The Good
A unique twist to the classic tale of a princess and hero more than usual and this time it involves a side character becoming a main character. It brings not only a refreshing look to the theme but also a comedic twist that not many would expect. The reactions and interactions of Aria’s situation brought about amusing moments and the tale of the hero has an actual concrete tale for a change. What’s more this hero presents more than a charming and strong persona, there is another side that brings an interesting point to the story.
The Bad
While exposition and development is all good, there is something as too much exposition on a character and too slow development. With the manga at already 13 chapters, more development should have been made towards the relationship of the leads rather than learning everything there is to know about the hero. A balance could have worked out better at this point and as it shows, as certain points could have been all squeezed in a shorter point and presents Aria as a still indecisive female lead who is being yanked around while being aggressively charmed by the male.
Conclusion
The plot is interesting but the development and relationship pace could have been more balanced out. Having a concrete explanation to the immense strength of a hero is interesting but could have been shown more rather than told. Aria is an amusing character but more could have been done with her in the chapters rather than being dragged around by her circumstance. Still the manga is interesting enough and still in progress so there is room for improvement. So far the manga has an interesting plot with good art and enjoyable characters.
