You guys have been waiting for it and now the premiere dates are set. Two full-length anime films A Silent Voice (Koe no Katachi ) and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection are slated to premiere in US theaters in October. This has been confirmed during Eleven Arts’ panel session in Anime Expo.
Koe no Katachi ranked number 2 on its premiere date in Japan just behind Makoto Shinkai’s anime film hit your name (Kimi no Nawa). Moviegoers and critics alike have praised this movie for being closely accurate to its original source.
Based on the manga of the same name by Yoshitoki Oima, Koe no Katachi centers on two different characters namely Shoya Ishida and Shoko Nishimiya. Nishimiya is a mute classmate of Ishida, who bullied her along with her other classmates. When Nishimiya transferred schools, Ishida was struck by karma and has become a new target for being bullied from almost everyone in school. As years went on and pitied by what he done in the past, Ishida decided to learn sign language and hopefully get to patch up with Nishimiya and the people whom he have hurt in the past.
The movie won Best Animation of the Year in the 26th Annual Japan Movie Critics Awards in May.
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection is one of the highly anticipated movies in the Nanoha franchise. It is slated to premiere in Japan on July 22. The movie project is set into two films. As of this time, there is still no announcement for the second movie’s premiere date.
To give you gist on what is about, it is about a pair of researchers that stayed behind in a dying planet of Eltria with their two daughters namely Amitie and Kyrie. Both researched have high hopes that the will be able to give the planet life. When the husband named Gantz died of an illness, Kirie together with Iris, her childhood friend, decided to venture into an alternate world for help. As they land on planet earth, they have met Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate.
Two great Japanese films heading to the West—what more can you ask for. It’s expected that many Western fans of these two franchises are looking forward to the premiere dates. More information up soon!
