"Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann" Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Re-broadcast

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, otherwise known as Gurren Lagann, is a series that first began in April 2007 and has until now left its mark under the genres of action and romance with its memorable characters, action packed plot and emotional moments even after it ended in September of 2007.

But now, the series will be making a return to the screen as a commemoration to their 10th year anniversary with a rebroadcast that will go on every Wednesday starting on July 5 on Tokyo MX and BS 11 at 11:30 p.m. Then on July 12 it will be shown on ABC Asahi Broadcast at 24:30.

The tale of this action series begins with a deep underground village where two young males named Simon and Kamina. The two are as opposite as can be; Kamina is a passionate and self-confidant young man who dreams of making it to the surface while Simon is a timid young man who greatly admires Kamina and even refers to him as his brother even if they are not related.

One day Simon stumbles across an artifact which turns out to be the ignition to an ancient war artifact which they dub Lagann and in result of this everything changes. For following their discovery, their home is attacked by people from the surface. But with the help of a surface dweller named Yoko, they triumph, and thus begins their adventures on the surface filled with travelling and battles against “Beastmen” while also trying to solve a mystery.

The cast of the series comprise of firstly Tetsuya Kakihara, the voice of Uno in “Nanbaka” as the shy protagonist Simon. Then there is Katsuyuki Konishi, the voice behind Sakaki in “Snow White with the Red Hair” as Kamina. Followed after him is the voice actress for Momo Yaoyorozu in “Boku no Hero Academia”, Marina Inoueas as Yoko Littner. Finally, Yukari Fukui, who played as Cocoloo in “Petite Princess Yucie” as Nia Teppelin.
