Here comes a bit of an inception for an anime series, an anime short within the anime. For the 23rd episodes of the cycling anime “Yowamushi Pedal New Generation” titled “, the staff has announced that there will be a short at the third portion of the episode. The short will be featuring the anime titled, “Love Hime Pettanko.”
This anime series is recognized as a work that has previously appeared as short segments within the series and is a highly favoured anime of the series’ protagonist, Onoda Sakamichi, to the point that he sings the opening song, "Koi no Himehime Pettanko”, whenever he can as a type of motivation.
The anime series tells the story of a magical girl named Kotori Himeno and her sheep butler companion named Mage. Reprising her role as the purple haired girl is Yukari Tamura, who plays as Kaoru Tsunashi in the comedy series, “I Can’t Understand What My Husband Is Saying.” Along with her is Junichi Sawabe, the voice of Shirogane in “Monochrome Factor.”
In the short, there will be an introduction of a new theme song written by the creator himself, titled, “"Hime no Kurukuru Kataomoi" a.k.a. “Hime’s Rotating Crush”. Not only this, but there will also be a featured appearance of a new character named Koutarou-kun. He will be played by voice actor, Yuuki Kaji, the voice of Shuu Ouma in the series, “Guilty Crown.”
To those who may not be familiar with the franchise, “Yowamushi Pedal” is a series that is based on a 2008 manga of the same name created by Wataru Watanabe with 51 volumes published so far. Currently running on its fourth series, the franchise tells the tale of an otaku named Onoda Sakimichi, who finds himself entering into the world of road-racing and learning the different ropes that comes to the sport alongside his seniors and fellow first-years.
The short will be making is debut on Monday and in other news, there will be limited release of the ninth Blu-ray Disc/DVD volume for the franchise on December 13 and this one contains exclusive art and the new “Hime no Kurukuru Kataomoi” theme song.
