Over the past few years up to this point, millions of viewers hastily looked for new ways to entertain themselves.
Around two months ago, the announcement of the Matsuno brothers’ return was confirmed. Now a new announcement has been made and it is official, a month has been chosen for the release of the second season of the popular comedy series “Osomatsu-san” and it is October. Also, as of 6:00 a.m. of June 6, the official website for the franchise.
To those who may be curious on what this series exactly is, “Osomatsu-san” was a manga series created by Fujio Akatsuka, a.k.a. the “Gag Manga King” in 1962. The manga ran until 1969 with 34 volumes and in 1966 and 1988, an animation adaptation was made with 56 and 86 episodes respectively.
The 60’s series told of the comedic adventures of the 10-year-old sextuplet siblings of the Matsuno family. It was in 2015 that the series was brought back to the screen; but this time, instead of the adventures of the sextuplets as children, the new anime series portrays them as 20 something adults who have become lazy NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training).
The first series ran for a total of 25 episodes and ended with an explosive departure for the brothers. Now the key visual released in the official website shows of their return to earth in the aftermath of their great battle at the end of the first season.
Also in the website is a mosaic produced from the project titled “The Osomatsu-san Mosaic Art Campaign.” The piece was created with the use of over 2,000 images submitted by fans and now holds a place at Tokyo’s JR Ikebukuro station.
Directing the new season is Yoichi Fujita, who also directed the “Osomatsu-san Ouma de Kobanashi” and the unique music comedy series “ClassicalLoid.” He will be working at Studio Pierrot, which is known to be currently producing “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.” With him is character designer Naoyuki Asano, who also worked on the designs for the “Saint Young Men” film.
The voice actors from the first season will be reprising their roles for their second season and
