A new unconventional romance story is about to be added to the anime community and its name is “Fox Spirit Matchmaker” a.k.a. “Enmusubi no Youko-chan.” Created by Xiao Xin, the web comic is confirmed to have plans for an anime adaptation and already there is a premiere date confirmed, which is on July 1 and a list of cast and staff to go with it.
The story for this series tells of a world where spirits and humans coexist and even fall in love with one another. However, there is a catch, with how long a spirit’s life expectancy being so much longer than that of a human’s, the human always dies first, and even when he or she is reborn, the memories of their past life is wiped from their minds.
All is not lost for the spirit partner of the reborn human however, as a “service” has risen to help them. Known as the “Fox Spirit Matchmakers”, they are able to restore the lost memories of humans and start a new love story for the spirit. The story focuses on one these matchmakers and their journey in providing “services.”
The cast that has been confirmed at this time are for the two main characters of the series, Suusu and Gessho along with details on their roles.
Taking the role of Suusu is Asumi, Kana the voice behind the main character of “Ano Natsu de Matteru”, Kitahara, Mio. Suusu is described as weak girl that aims to be an admirable Fox Spirit as one of the three sisters of the Tosan Family. But the question is, is there more to this girl than she appears
Hatano, Wataru, who plays as Sir Edward Lambert in “World Break: Aria of Curse for a Holy Swordsman”, is playing as the male lead of the series, Gessho. His character is described as an extraordinarily powerful Taoist, but at the same time his greed marks him as the most unvirtuous one in history. What’s more he is to be Suusu’s fiancée.
