Are you ready for more Digimon?
It was announced on Saturday that the Digimon Adventure tri. anime film series will have its own stage play adaptation! Ticketing information, visuals of the upcoming show, as well as the show dates were also revealed making another step in the popular franchise. The stage play is produced by Polygon Magic while the original work and concept is credited to Akiyoshi Hongo.
To give you a little synopsis, the play begins on the date of August 1 and will be focused on the side stories of the eight DigiDestined. This is special date to the gang as they were preparing to go camping together. When everyone thought that everything would go well according to plan, Mimi has forgotten the necessary camping equipment and this would be quite a hassle for all of them. Taichi immediately remarked that the predicament that they had is almost the same when they all first went into the Digital World now because of this, memories of their adventures six years ago began to resurface.
Gaku Matsumoto will be playing the show’s protagonist Taichi Yagami along with Shohei Hashimoto as Yamato Ishida, Kaisei Kamimura as Koshiro Izumi, Junya Komatsu as Jo Kido, and Kenta Nomiyama as Takeru Takaishi to play the other roles of the DigiDestined.
The show will only be running for a limited ten shows from August 5 to 13 at the Zepp Blue Theater Roppongi located in Tokyo. Tickets to the show cost 7,800 yen each and a lottery is open for those who want to get early tickets to the show which starts on May 20 until 28 only. The general selling of tickets will begin on July 2. So if you’re visiting Japan this August, be sure to get tickets to this once-in-a-lifetime stage production.
As a way to celebrate 15 years of the franchise, the DigiDestined has returned in anime film series titled Digimon Adventure tri. Taichi, Sora, Yamato, and the rest of the gang reunite with their fellow Digimon as they meet new adventures and new evil that lurks in the Digital World.
The first anime film Digimon Adventure tri.- Chapter 1: Reunion opened in Japan in November 2015, followed by Digimon Adventure tri.- Chapter 2: Determination in March 2016, Digimon Adventure tri.- Chapter 3: Confession and Digimon Adventure tri.- Chapter 4: Loss premiered in the same in September 24, 2016 and February 25, 2017 respectively. The fifth film which is titled Digimon Adventure tri. Kyōsei (Union or Symbiosis) is slated to premiere in Japanese theaters this year.
