Hayao Miyazaki’s “Final Film” to Start Production in October- Studio Ghibli now Hiring Animators !

Ghibli fans, it’s time to rejoice once more! The award-winning director Hayao Miyazaki is now on the move for his “final” film. It was revealed in a job recruitment notice published on Friday that Studio Ghibli and Miyazaki are looking for dedicated background artists and animators to work for a three-year contract. The work on the movie project will begin on October 1.

The notice have emphasized that this feature film will be directed by Miyazaki and could be his final film project with Studio Ghibli due to his age (he is 76 years old currently) and contract is subject change or an extension of the project or employment.

The good news here is that Studio Ghibli is not restricted to Japanese citizens only. What they are really looking for is dedicated animators and individuals who can understand the local language and at the same time can deal with lots of work being handed to them by Miyazaki. The other good think about this is you don’t need any kind of past or relevant experience for you to work into this dream company. What matters is that you can show your potential and to be able to bring great outputs that would benefit the production of this upcoming film.

So far, there is still no information to what the next movie will be about. Studio Ghibli might provide us some tidbits once the production will begin.

Back in November, a TV special special titled Owaranai Hito Miyazaki Hayao (Never-Ending Man: Hayao Miyazaki), Miyazaki expressed that he wanted to produce another full-length animated film after his animation short Kemushi no Boro will released for the Ghibli Museum. He admitted that he wasn’t satisfied with the production of the CG short and decided to push forward a proposal of another full-length film last August 2016.

Miyazaki has been constantly drawing the film’s storyboards since July despite the project not been green-lit. Around 20 minutes of the story was already put into storyboard based on reports.

The original plan for the film was to be released in 2019 before the highly anticipated Tokyo Olympics 2020. He then later admitted that the film requires more time and completing the movie before this grand international sports occasion is very impossible.
We can’t wait for this upcoming Studio Ghibli film. The last movie or not, the whole world is waiting for Miyazaki’s magic to unfold once again in the next few years.
