Get a new appreciation for food and cooking in art with the new Ghibli art exhibition set to debut on May 27 and run until May of 2018. Entitled “Taberu o Kaku” (“Drawing about Eating”), the exhibit is to be presented at the Ghibli Museum located in Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan. Goro Miyazaki shall be overseeing the exhibition and theme is to be centred on the celebration of the simple pleasures in cooking and dining.
With tickets ranging from 100 yen (US$0.09) for infants to 1000 yen (US$9.01) for adults to the Ghibli Museum, there are a number of features at the exhibit to look over and enjoy.
One of the main features to be found at the exhibit would be the behind-the-scenes artwork, including the original storyboards, backgrounds, and other production materials and an examination over the process of Ghibli animators in their creation of the beautiful and memorable scenes involving the consumption or creation of food.
In addition to the art production pieces, there will also be life-sized reproductions of the kitchens found in the films “Castle in the Sky” and “My Neighbor Totoro.”
