Yu-Gi-Oh! started out as a Japanese manga series about gaming written and illustrated by Kazuki Takahashi, but is known mostly in America for it’s stylized anime and card games, after the anime appeared on major US television networks. The original manga was published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine between September 30, 1996 and March 8, 2004, almost a decade ago. The plot followed the story of a boy named Yugi Mutou, who solves the ancient Millennium Puzzle. Yugi awakens a gambling alter-ego, an ancient Egyptian Pharoah within his body that solves his conflicts using various games.
