Learn more about the main cast of the upcoming economic anime “Sakura Quest” set to be released on April 4 at 12:00 a.m. on Amazon Japanese Prime with the newest promotional video set up by the anime’s official website. Directed by “Anyamaru Tantei Kiruminzū’s” and “Chaika – The Coffin Princess’” director Soichi Masui, the story revolves around the growth and change of five young girls who are hired as “monarchs” (tourism ambassadors) upon the revival of the “micro-nation” tourism program by their small rural town.
These five main girls comprise of firstly, Yoshino Koharu, the main protagonist who is to be played by the voice behind character Miyuki Sakurai of “Whistle!” Ayaka, Nanase. A friendly but truthfully serious character, she hated the rural life and longed to live a city life and be “special.” At one point, she attempted to do this by heading to Tokyo only to fail. Now she has coincidentally become the monarch of the micro-nation Chupacabra Kingdom.
The second main character is Yoshino’s co-worker in the Manoyama tourism bureau, Shiori Shinomiya, voice by Reina Ueda, recognized for her role as Nana in “Nanairo Kakumei.” A bright and optimistic girl with a love for her town and willingness to help others, she is someone who prefers order in their life and has high skills in housework.
Following after her is the cool big sister type character Maki Midorikawa, played by the voice of Inori in “Chaos Dragon” Chika Anzai. She is someone who is familiar with the working field having worked several part-time jobs during her time as a part of a small theatre group in her attempt at becoming an actress only to fail and return to Manoyama.
The fourth girl of the group is one who’s only friend is the kind Shiori Shinomiya, Ririko Oribe, voiced by Chiemi Tanaka, the voice of Sasame Tsuji in “Three Leaves, Three Colors.” A high school graduate who hates the rural life but never found the will to make a move, she spends her days surfing the internet locked within her house, in turn she holds an anxiety towards strangers.
Last but not least is the conscious city girl, Sanae Kouzuki, voiced by Mikoko Kimatsu, known to have played as Shinnosuke in the series “Descending Stories: Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju.” Born and raised in Toyo and a college graduate with work in web design. The one thing that she longs for is a healthy lifestyle of conservation and sustainability.
Other characters that have been introduced were co-workers and people of the town in which the girls lived.
