February 27 is Pokemon Day— the first Pokemon games, Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue were released in Japan. Ever since, the games have expanded to a lot of sequels, spin-offs, and even other adaptations from anime to manga.
As a way of celebrating 21 years of Pokemon, there are a lot of events waiting for everyone who have been with the franchise for many years. Read further to find out of the events:
-Pokemon GO will release a special version of Pikachu that players can capture. In every Pikachu that you will encounter from February 27 until March 6, it will have a party hat at the top of its head. Be sure to keep at least one of them because the hat will not disappear even until the end of the special event.
-The Pokemon Center will debut new Gallery Figures collection of Pikachu, Mew, Eevee, and Magikarp performing their special attacks.
-You will be able to watch the following Pokemon movies: Pokemon: The First Movie, Pokemon Zoroark: Master of Illusions, and Pokemon 4Ever at a limited time for free in Pokemon TV and on the official Pokemon mobile app and website.
-Extra Trainer Tokens on will be given to trailers in Pokemon Trading Card Game Online. Twitch will have an all-day stream of recent match videos from Pokemon TCG and in Pokken Tournament.
-For those who have the Pokemon Sun and/or Pokemon Moon games, be sure to head to a participating GameStop store until March 5 to receive the item Bottle Cap, which boosts the strength stats of your Pokemon through Hyper Training. The Pokemon Shuffle 3DS game will also have its own in-game promotions.
