Gambling Manga "Kakegurui" is Revealed to have Upcoming Anime Adaptation

Here comes a manga that brings a whole different look to an educational system and it is gaining an anime adaptation. Written by Homura Kawamoto, the writer for manga series “Rengoku Deadroll” and “Issekai Houtei: Rebuttal Barista”, “Kakegurui” tells the tale set in the prestigious academy known as Hyakkaou Private Academy, where the hierarchy of students are not determined on how intelligent they are, how athletic they are, nor even how beautiful/handsome they are.

Instead, the status of a student within this academy is based on how well one is at gambling. Amongst the students it is the student the council that holds the power and rule over the academy with an iron fist. However, a change is about to come as a beautiful transfer student named Yumeko Jabami enters the scene.

The anime adaptation shall be under the direction of Yuichiro Hayashi, director of the series “PES: Peace Eco Smile” and “Garo the Animation” and is to be animated by the company MAPPA, whoe is recognized for their work with “Rage of Bahamut: Genesis” and “Ushio and Tora.” Working on the series composition is the composer behind the series “Yume Tsukai”, “Witchblade” and the popular “Attack on Titan”, Yasuko Kobayashi and acting as the character designer for the upcoming series is Manabu Akira.
