‘Space Battleship Yamato 2202’ anime releases new promo video

The Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love (Uchū Senkan Yamato 2202: Ai no Senshi-tachi) anime film recently released a new promotional video on Monday, February 6.

Also known named as Star Blazers, the Space Battleship Yamato 2202 is a seven-part theatrical anime project that sequels story of Space Battleship Yamato 2199.

In the new trailer, the project features its first chapter’s ending theme song—Yamato yori Ai wo Komete (From Yamato With Love)—performed by Kenji Sawada.

The story of Space Battleship Yamato 2202 takes place in year 2202, three years after Yamato returned to Earth from planet Iscandar. The goddess Teresa called Yamato to a new voyage, following the threat of Gatlantis slowly approaching the Earth.

The first of the seven films is slated to premiere on February 25 in Japan.

The prequel, Space Battleship Yamato 2199, is a remake of Leiji Matsumoto and Yoshinobu Nishizaki’s original 1974 Space Battleship Yamato.
