Hiroyuki's Comedy Manga 'Ahogaru: Clueless Girl' Gains Anime Adaptation

Announced on Thursday in this year’s March issue of the Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine is the production of an anime adaptation for the comedy manga entitled “Ahogaru: Clueless Girl” a.k.a “Aho-Girl.”
Created by manga artist Hiroyuki, the four-panel comedy manga was first launched in 2012 in the Weekly Shōnen Magazine, yet during the year 2015 they shifted in publication to the Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine. Prior to this upcoming adaptation, Hiroyuki had already had two other comedy pieces adapted into an anime series.

The first was a 12-episode comedy series launched in 2007 entitled, “Doujin-work.” The following work that had been inspired by “Doujin-work” and released in home video by the company Media Blasters is “The Comic Artist and his Assistants” a comedy/slice of life work that was adapted into a 12-episode television anime series in 2014.
For the manga itself, it tells the story of a high school girl named Yoshiko. She is as clueless as a girl can get and this usually ends up with getting into over the top hijinks and other sorts of trouble. Because of this her childhood friend has no choice but to look out for this trouble magnet of a girl.

The anime adaptation is set to occur during the summer and the man to act as chief director for this show is Keizou Kusakawa, known for his work in directing various shows including “Fuuka” and “Sekirei.” Working with him as a director is Shingo Tamaki, who has previously worked on the anime series “Campione!” and “Dog Days!.”
Acting as the scriptwriter for the series is the man who worked on the shows “First Love Monster” and “Hagane Orchestra”, Takashi Aoshima. Last but not least is the character designer for this series who previously worked the shows “Squid Girl” and “LOVE!.”

In additional news, Kodanshi has announced that they will be having a publication of the series in North America in October under the name of Ahogaru: Clueless Girl.
