21st ‘Detective Conan’ movie releases new visual

On Wednesday, January 18, the 21st Detective Conan anime movie unveiled a new visual for the film. The movie, Detective Conan: Crimson Love Letter (Meitantei Conan Kara Kurenai no Love Letter), is slated to premiere in Japanese theaters on April 15.

The movie will be directed by Kobun Shizuno at TMS and V1 Studio. Shizuno also directed the previous six Detective Conan anime movies. Returning movie staffs also include Takeharu Sakurai, who is in charged of writing the script, and Katsuo Ono, who is in charged of music composition.

The movie’s cast members were also confirmed to be the same as the television anime’s casts. Minami Takayama will voice Conan Edogawa, Wakana Yamazaki as Ran Mōri, Rikiya Koyama as Kogorō Mōri, Ryo Horikawa as Heiji Hattori, and Yuko Miyamura as Kazuha Toyama.

The movie is based Gosho Aoyama’s ongoing Detective Conan manga series.

Set in Osaka, Detective Conan: Crimson Love Letter will feature Heiji Hattori and Kazuha Toyama’s romance. With the appearance of Momiji Ōoka, who refers Heiji as her future husband, Kazuha seemed to find a new romantic rival.
