‘All Out!!’ rugby sports manga to debut stage play in May 2017

The February 2017 issue of Kodansha’s Morning Two magazine revealed that Shiori Amase’s rugby manga, All Out!!, is getting a stage play that will debut in May next year.

According to reports, the play will be held at the Zepp Blue Theater Roppongi in Tokyo. Shatner Nishida, who is the director of the Yowamushi Pedal stage play, is also going to direct the All Out!! stage play.

All Out!!’s original maga story revolves around a short, first-year high school student named Kenji Gion. During his first day at the Kanagawa Prefectural High School, Kenji met a tall student, Sumiaki Iwashimizu, who is a member of their school’s rugby team. After seeing the game for the first time, Kenji finds it interesting, prompting him to later join the team.

The manga began its serialization in January 2013 at the Kodansha Monthly Two magazine. It was also adapted into an anime television series by Madhouse and TMS Entertainment, with Telecom Animation Film assisting with the production. The anime is directed by Kenichi Shimizu and began airing last early this October.
