Over the past few years up to this point, millions of viewers hastily looked for new ways to entertain themselves.
Early this week, the official website for the Clockwork Planet anime opened, revealing the television adaptation series’ cast and staff.
Clockwork Planet anime, under the direction of Tsuyoshi Nagasawa at Xebec, is slated to air April next year on TBS and BS-TBS. It was based on a Japanese light novel series written by Yuu Kamiya (No Game, No Life) and Tsubaki Himana, with illustrations by Shino.

In April 2013, Clockwork Planet’s first light novel volume was published by Kodansha under their Kodansha Ranobe Bunko imprint. A manga adaptation, with art by Kuro, has also been serialized.
Story as described by Kodansha Comics:
“Naoto’s a high school dropout and brilliant amateur tinkerer. He lives in a world that has been so over-exploited that the entire surface has become one vast machine. When a box crashes into his home containing a female automaton, it’s a harbinger of change that will rock the entire globe, and give Naoto his chance to be a hero.”
