A new historical fiction anime is about to come to screen and its name is “Shoukoku no Altair”. It tells the story of a young Pasha known as Mahmut serving on the council of the Türkiye Stratocracy. With the council split between the warmongers and the pacifists from the growing threat of an aggressive Empire Mahmut sets out on a quest to keep the peace as the clouds of war grow larger. As he continues into his quest Mahmut soon finds himself delving deeper into the political world of his country, discovering both enemies and allies in his quest for peace.
Created by Katou, Kotono an University of Tokyo graduate with a degree in History specializing in Turkey; “Shoukoku no Altair” was first published in 2007 and is currently running 17b volumes with an 18th volume set to be published on January 17th. Now news has been made that manga magazine, “Shounen Sirius” is set to announce of an anime adaptation of the manga to be made by studio MAPPA (known to be behind a most popular work, “Yuri!!! On Ice”).
No further details on a release date nor cast has been made but production is at work.
