From November 24 to December 14, the popular skating anime Yuri!!! on Ice ranked number one in Twitter gathering a total of 1,440,596 tweets based on a research done by the Kadokawa Ascii Research Laboratories. The said organization took account the number of tweets in the specific timeline in both the title of the show and possible related abbreviations.
The anime has truly become an international hit that even the Olympic skater Johnny Weir is now hooked to it. A reference of the show can also be found in one South Park episode where Ike was searching for it on Google.
Aside from Yuri!!! on Ice, Kadokawa Ascii Research Laboratories also released a list which reveal the top 10 anime being discussed in Twitter. You can find the anime titles as well the total number of tweets below:
