After its first season run with a total of seven episodes, the live action adaptation of Wataru Watanabe's
Yowamushi Pedal manga gets a sequel slated for 2017.
The first series premiered on August 26 this year with Kota Fukihara as its scriptwriter. The announcement has been confirmed in the series' official website and official Twitter, in which the announcement video can be found below:
The sequel will be a continuation of the first season and centered on Sakamichi Onoda as a first-year student. The entire series will be based from the Inter High arc with the main cast of the previous season reprising their roles.
To give you a synopsis on the series,
Yowamushi Pedal is about a boy named Sakamichi Oda who is an
otaku studying at Sōhoku High School. Due to his love for anime and related interests, he rides his bicycle going to Akihabara which is a 60-mile round trip from his school. His life changed forever when he stumbled on Sōhoku High's bicycle team and decided to join in with them.
