For any anime fan, film director, producer, screenwriter, animator, author, and manga artist Hayao Miyazaki was and is a man who created pieces of art that have left their mark in the anime world. Though his most famous works may be recognized to be under the “Studio Ghibli” productions, any fan would recognize his artistic touch in them. From the fantastical “Spirited Away” to the whimsical “Kiki’s Delivery Service” Hayao Miyazaki has created worlds of wonder for any viewer to enjoy.
When the announcement came on September 1, 2013 at the Venice Film Festival of Miyazaki’s retirement from creating feature-length films by Ghibli President Koji Hoshino there was a cry out from fans which only grew when Miyazaki confirmed this statement during a press conference, in Tokyo, on September 6, 2013.
But even in his period of retirement from films Miyaaki continues to created and as of this year there has been news of Miyazaki creating a short film known as Kemushi no Boro or Boro the Caterpillar which is planned to have an exclusive screening in the Studio Ghibli Museum. With this short film to add to his list, Miyazaki has directed a total of ten short films made into exclusive screenings at the museum.
The short will be expected to be around 12 minutes with both CG (Computer Generated) and hand drawn animation and will be screened at the Museum’s Saturn Theater. It has been reported by “Movie Natalie” that yesterday in a talk event held at the DNP Plaza in Tokyo, Studio Ghibli Toshio Suzuki confirms the completion of the short film to be set around Spring 2017 during the months of either June or July.
Additional to this Miyazaki fans can have another thing to look forward to with a new detail on Miyazaki’s hand-drawn anime feature film project now scheduled to be released
