'Fullmetal Alchemist' Gets Live-Action Movie, Trailer Officially Released

We’re pretty sure that a lot have been long-time fans of the Fullmetal Alchemist franchise. Though the anime and manga series have ended, the hype still continues with an upcoming live-action movie! It is expected to be released in Winter 2017 in Japanese theaters.

Fumihiko Sori has been confirmed as director while Ryosuke Yamada will be playing the role of Edward Elric. Ed’s brother Alphonse will be done in CGI animation. This will probably be the most anticipated movie for next year.

When it comes to the faithfulness of the source material, Sori said to quote, “I want to create a style that follows the original manga as much as possible. The cast is entirely Japanese, but the cultural background is Europe. However, it’s a style that doesn’t represent a specific race or country.”

We hope that this movie will be shown outside of Japan for their international fans to watch as well! You can view the trailer and the translations below:
