Bushiroad’s D4DJ Announces TV Series, Official Title and Visual

Posted in: Anime News

A new Bushiroad project is heading to our TVs soon, as their newest multimedia project D4DJ (Dig Delight Direct Drive DJ) is confirmed to be getting a TV series! D4DJ First Mix, the official title of the TV series, has also released a first official visual. Check it out below!

The anime project was first announced last February and during that time it was not specified yet what form the project was going to take. Acclaimed anime director Seiji Mizushima (Fullmetal Alchemist, Mobile Suit Gundam 00) was earlier announced to be directing the anime project for D4DJ (Dig Delight Direct Drive DJ). Sanzigen Animation Studio will be handling animation. It was also announced that Mizushima and Sanzigen are currently working on a promotional video for the “Happy Around” musical unit of the D4DJ franchise.

It is still unclear as to what form the anime project for D4DJ will take, but looking at other Bushiroad mixed-media franchises—like BanG Dream! and Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight—it appears a given that D4DJ will also receive a TV anime series of their own.

D4DJ is described as a “DJ-themed mixed media project” which includes live DJ performances, an anime (as mentioned above), and a smartphone game. The game, entitled D4DJ Groovy Mix, will be released for iOS and Android devices sometime in 2020. Donuts is developing the game for Bushiroad.

A gameplay video for D4DJ Groovy Mix was also revealed last Friday. Get a glimpse of Bushiroad’s newest (gacha hell) game here!
