Hit Yuri Manga Series “Bloom Into You” to End with 8th Volume on November 2019

Posted in: Anime News

Sad news for fans of the hit yuri manga Bloom Into You (Yagate Kimi ni Naru): a picture taken from the latest issue of Dengeki Daioh announced that the beloved yuri series will be ending on volume 8. The final volume will be released on November 2019.

The picture depicts two hands (we can only hope they’re Yuu’s and Touko’s) together, with the simple caption written in Japanese as “Arigatou” (Thank you).

The manga went on a one-month hiatus and is set to return with the much-awaited Chapter 40 on April 27, which is also the manga’s 4th anniversary. Chapter 39 showed Touko rejecting her best friend Sayaka’s affections, after she realizes that she is in love with Yuu—something which she has refused to recognize for so long. After coming home from her school field trip, she immediately contacts Yuu, whose feelings she had earlier rejected as well, and tells her that they have to meet. The chapter ends with both characters running to meet each other, teasing a possibly plot-changing and much-awaited talk between the two.

Yagate Kimi ni Naru (Bloom Into You, or literally Eventually, Becoming You) is a yuri manga series written and illustrated by Nakatani Nio. It was first published on April 2015 and was serialized in Dengeki Daioh, with publication rights in Japan held by ASCII Media Works. So far, six tankobon volumes have been released. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed its North American release and first published it on February 2016.

Nakatani Nio’s yuri manga was also adapted into a 13-episode anime series produced by animation studio TROYCA. There is also an upcoming live-action stage play based on the manga, which will run from May 3 to 12. The stage play’s cast was announced in an earlier article in this website.
