During the announcement of its Japanese screenings, an English dub was confirmed for the Kyoto Animation’s “Liz and the Blue Bird” anime film. Now the cast for that dub has been listed.

The voice actress is known for playing Lili in “Pokemon Sun and Moon” but she also played a role in the “Fireworks, Should We See it from the Side or the Bottom?” film as Miura-sensei. With her as the second protagonist, Nozomi Kazaki/Tsubomi is Stephanie Sheh. Sheh is known for playing a variety of roles in different anime. Her most prominent roles include as Hinata Hyuuga in the “Naruto” series and Usagi Tsukino in “Sailor Moon.”

“Liz and the Blue Bird” is one of the two films released for the “Sound! Euphonium” series. It premiered on April 21 and is directed by Naoko Yamada, the director behind “A Silent Voice” film. The screenplay of the film was done by Reiko Yoshida and the character designs by Futoshi Nishiya. As for the music, it is composed by Kensuke Ushio.

The film tells the story of third-year students and best friends Mizore Yoroizuka and Nozomi Kasaki. Mizore is a shy and soft-spoken girl who plays the oboe and is dependant on the outgoing Nozomi, who plays the flute. As the band prepares for nationals and the two for graduation Mizore grows depressed as her separation from Nozomi draws near. Coincidentally enough, the band is assigned to play a piece based on a German fairy tale called “Liz and the Blue Bird,” another story in which two friends must bid each other farewell.
