Yes, yes, we know that Japanese-dubbed-English-subbed videos aren’t for everyone, so Atlus has a treat for you! This Tuesday they released an English-dubbed trailer for the much-awaited Persona 5 Royal. Get to hear our favorite Phantom Thieves (plus new character Kasumi Yoshizawa) speaking English in the trailer here!
The US Playstation Blog also posted an official description of new character Kasumi.
“Kasumi is a transfer student who enrolls at Shujin Academy at the same time as the protagonist. Because she’s been an award-winning gymnast since middle school, Shujin Academy has high hopes for her future.
Her Metaverse costume was intentionally designed to mirror Joker’s style with her all black outfit and red gloves.
Personas are a version of your heart manifested. Her true rebellious nature is manifested in her Persona Cendrillion, who was inspired by the classic fairytale Cinderella’s nature.”
Persona 5 The Royal will be adding in the third semester of the school year at Shujin, something which was not in the original Persona 5 game. A new confidant character named Takuto Maruki was also added. He is a part-time school counselor at Shujin, and his arcana is Le Consultant. Other new features in the game include new locations in the map, new social activities, Status Assist, more songs, and enhanced graphics with PlayStation 4 Pro support.
Atlus also announced that Persona 5 Royal will include all the DLC from the original game. In addition to this, they also released details on P5R’s different release editions for western players. The Launch Edition will include a steel book case and a dynamic PS4 theme. The premium Phantom Thieves Edition will include a Joker mask with stand, collector’s box, art book, soundtrack CD, steel book, and a dynamic PS4 theme.
Persona 5 The Royal was released in Japan on October 31, 2019. Atlus has previously announced that the game is set for a March 31, 2020 release in the West.
