While we are still hyped on the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie, fans might still have to wait and hang on to hope that new episodes of the Dragon Ball Super anime will happen soon.
Toei Animation recently reported to website Anime News Network that an article spotlight posted by international media news website World Screen stating of upcoming new episodes for Dragon Ball Super “is not true at the moment” and denies that new episodes are slated to release soon.
The Dragon Ball Super anime originally aired in Japan from July 2015 until March 2018. However, its manga series is still ongoing and has already past the story where the anime series left off.
The series’ first movie, Dragon Ball Super: Broly takes place after the Dragon Ball Super anime. The manga will be skipping the story of the film but will have its own novel adaptation.
The film opened on December 14 in Japan which sold more than 820,000 tickets in just the first three days of screening. It immediately earned more than 1,050,000,000 yen and topped the Japanese box office charts.
Its first world premiere event happened at Nippon Budokan last November 14 and premiered in Japan on December 14 (in regular and 4DX screenings.) The English dub premiere happened at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood on December 13.
