Synopsis
Kautz was a simple young man who was going to town in search of a job. On the way however, he ends up accosted by slime monsters. Luckily he is saved by a mysterious girl who ends up dropping a money pouch with the name of an armor shop. Upon arriving to town, he ends up finding the armor shop. It is no ordinary armor shop however, but rather an adult armor shop run by a man who aims to spread risque armor along with the woman who saved him. Seeing the less than stellar state of the shop Kautz ends up an employee of the shop after volunteering to help with their expenses.
The Good
What makes the series so interesting is the fact that it makes use of RPG graphics. It creates a rather cute and quirky tone for the series while coming off as rather fitting for the series. As expected, the characters are rather quirky and holds an interesting note to them. It’s a simple series that has a silly but fun concept to it. On a smaller note, the fanservice was expected but props to the series for not going overboard with it.
The Bad
Being a series based on a 4-koma work, there isn’t much to be found in terms of substance, but really, it feels like the series was not only dragged out but also went all over the place. It’s a comedy yes, it’s not serious yes, but even a short series consisting of 3 to 5 minute episodes hold some sort of theme to it. Here, it was more on introducing new elements and banking on the RPG graphics and moments of comedy. Basically, the series had a rather weird flow to it to say the least.
Conclusion
The series is quirky, has good graphics and not all that bad of characters. If it worked out its layout and flow better, it would be more enjoyable. It can be argued that being a short and comedic series, there shouldn’t be much criticism, but the way it seems to jump to different points is a tad noticeable. It’s not a bad series so far, but it’s clearly meant to be something to watch when you want to sit back and have a quick laugh.
