The smartphone/PC tie-in game “The Girl in Twilight” brought in a new character for an in-game event starting on November 26. From the magical girl anime “Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card”,
Sakura, Syaoran, Tomoyo, and Kero-chan have made an appearance.
As stated, this is for an in-game event and it is titled, “Sakura to Akanesasu Yume no Daibōken”. In addition to the appearance of the characters, there will also be a presentation of their costumes in the game along with the feature of Sakura and Syaoran being voiced. During the campaign, Asuka is shown to be wearing one of Sakura’s battle costumes.
“The Girl in Twilight” is a multimedia franchise celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Animax channel. It was back in March that the game was announced along with the anime. In comparison to the anime, the mobile game takes focus on a girl named Nagi who is voiced by Maaya Sakamoto. She is in search of her sister in a parallel world and due to the difficult life she has lived, cannot relate to the normal lives of Asuka and the others. That is until she begins traveling with them and slowly begins to open up to them.
The game was launched for iOS and Android devices, as well as for PCs and share the same original scenario writer, original character designers, concept artist, main theme songwriter, and music producer with the anime.
As “Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card”, it is the latest installation of the “Cardcaptor Sakura” franchise. The series began as a sequel manga to the original work then in January 2018, an anime adaptation was released. Produced by Madhouse, the series ran for a total of 22 episodes before concluding in June 2018.
The series takes focus on Sakura as she enters into junior high and begins to dream of a mysterious cloaked figure. What’s more, all the Sakura Cards turn blank and are rendered completely powerless, thus starting her quest to find out what is wrong.
Directed by Morio Asaka and written by Nanase Ohkawa, the latest anime of the franchise had the following cast:
