An anime adaptation is announced along with the opening of an official website for BINO’s “Jyoshi Kousei no Mudazukai”/“Wasteful Days of High School Girls” slice-of-life comedy manga. So far a teaser visual featuring the three main characters of the series has been released and further details will be revealed at a later date.
Other than the teaser visual, a post was also left by the manga author. It stated, “An incredible miracle happens in the last year of Heisei."
Also known as “JyoshiMuda”, the manga was first released in November 2014 with serialization being done on KADOKAWA’s web manga site Comic Newtype. In July 2017 the series reached its end once reaching a total of 10 million views. However, due to the support of its readers, the series managed to make its return in April 2018. Currently, the manga will be having its fourth tankobon volume set to be released on November 10, 2018.
The series takes focus on three high school girls who spend their days wasting their “high school girl” status. They compose of: Tanaka/Baka, who doesn’t have enough standard scores, Kikuchi/Ota, who is devoted to BL, and Saginomiya/Robo, who is an intelligent but emotionless person.
Newtype is, originally, a monthly magazine publication originating from Japan, covering anime and manga. Launched in March 1985 by publishing company Kadokawa Shoten with its April issue, the magazine also covers to a lesser extent, tokusatsu, Japanese science fiction, and video games and has a regular release on the 10th of every month in its home country.
The name of the magazine stemmed from the “Gundam” series’ Newtypes, which was from the Universal Century timeline, specifically the 1979 “Mobile Suit Gundam” series and its sequel “Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam” (1985). As a long-running publication, the magazine has formed different contents and they included columns, manga, fiction, television schedule, and art-related material.
Other than this, the Newtype USA, an English language version of the magazine that was published in North America between 2002 and 2008. It released different well-known works including “Full Metal Panic!”, “Angel/Dust”, “Chrono Crusade”, “Lagoon Engine Einsatz”, “Neon Genesis Evangelion: Angelic Days”, the “Aoi House” 4-koma, “Angel/Dust Neo”, and “Kobato.”
