Synopsis
One day, high school student Kashiwagi Aki finds herself kidnapped on the way on home and ends up in a world populated entirely by beastmen. Placed in a pet store, Aki soon finds herself bought by an impulsive wolfman Zinovy became infatuated with her on sight. Thus begins Aki’s new strange life under the care of an enthusiastic wolfman.
The Good
The concept may seem off but it’s not as bad as you would think. There’s a solid relationship build between the main characters and the way that Zinovy wants to get closer to Aki is rather cute. It’s strange but you can’t help but find the story just a tad endearing. Outside of one or two scenes, the series is rather light-hearted and there isn’t anything real mean-spirited to be found. Really, the beastmen characters are rather endearing and the way that they react to certain things that Aki does is both hilarious and cute at the same time.
The Bad
The only real downside is the way that Zinovy is the overly doting type to the point that he has this “dark side” to him. It’s not a bad trope, it’s just a rather overused one. Then there is his brother with his whole “I say I hate humans but actually love them” side. Really, there’s just a handful of generic tropes to be found with the concept of the series. The only reason it doesn’t stand out is because of the cuteness of the characters and the way they bond shifts the attention away. There are still questions for the plot and where exactly the series is going.
Conclusion
It’s a cute series, but it could be better with the characters having more development. Sure, there are some points of their characters shown throughout the story but it’s pretty generic and there wasn’t anything really new with them. While the characters could have been better, there’s a lot of cuteness and endearing qualities to be found in the series. It’s a little weird, but it’s a series that has a lot of potentials to be even sweeter.
