It was announced on Thursday during Nintendo’s Board of Directors meeting that the company’s current Present and Representative Director Tatsumi Kimishima will be retire effective on June 28. His positions will be taken over by Shuntaro Furukawa. He served Nintendo and assumed the roles in September 2015 immediately after Satoru Iwata who passed away in July 2015.
Although he is stepping down from his positions, Kimishima will be the company’s Executive Adviser. He current titles also include: Director; Managing Executive Officer; General Manager, Corporate Planning Department; Supervisor of Corporate Analysis & Administration Division; In charge of Global Marketing Department.
Born 1972, he started working in Nintendo in April 1994 and served as an outside director of The Pokemon Company in May 2012. He was the General Manager of the Corporate Planning Department in July 2015 before he assumed the role of Director in June the following year.
