A secret project was announced earlier this year for light novel series “Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest” and now it has been confirmed that the project will be an anime adaptation. Details on the production, from staff to cast and even story have already been confirmed.
The adaptation will be making its debut in April 2018 and will be aired on TOKYO MX and AT-X.
It tells of Hajime Nagumo, an average seventeen-year-old otaku who spends his days pulling all nighters and sleeping at school. His average is suddenly pulled to a halt however as he, along with the rest of his class, is summoned to a fantasy world.
Apparently, they have been summoned in order to save the human race from utter extinction and have been blessed with godly powers and thus are now revered as as great heroes. However, while his classmates have been greatly blessed, it seems that Hajime received the short end of the stick as he was given the job of Synergist, a role which only has a single transmutation skill. Because of this he finds himself not only ridiculed by his classmates but also at one point betrayed. Now all alone, he must find a way to survive in this world filled with monsters and demons with bit a glorified blacksmith’s level of strength. However, is there more to this power than it seems?
There is no full cast listed as of yet but there are three cast members confirmed. Playing as the protagonist is Toshinari Fukamachi, known to have previously played a role in the rugby series, “All Out!” as Taihei Nōka. With him is Yuuki Kuwahara, the voice behind Thoru in “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid”, to voice Yue. Lastly, taking on the role of Shia Haulia is Minami Takahashi, who is currently playing the role of Megumi Tadokoro in “Food Wars!”
The staff to work on the production include:
Director: Jun Kamiya
Series Composer: Kazuyuki Fudeyasu
Character Designer and Animation Director: Atsuo Tobe
Studio:WHITE FOX.
