A New Visual is Out for Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Anime

A new visual is up for the upcoming series, “Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card” and features Sakura in a lovely look of feathers and jewels. Posted on the official website of the work on Tuesday, this is the second visual for the upcoming shoujo series.

Based off of the sequel manga written and illustrated by the manga group Clamp, the anime ill be making its debut on NHK BS Premium at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2018. Followed after is a repeat on Fridays at 11:45 p.m.

Returning as director for the new series is Morio Asaka, who not only directed the first series, “Cardcaptor Sakura” but also the two films of the series as well, With him as the series composer and scriptwriter is CLAMP’s Nanase Ohkawa. Working on the character designs with costume and card designs by CLAMP’s Mokona, is Kunihiko Hanada. Lastly are Masafumi Mima for sound directing and Takayuki Negishi for music composing. Taking charge of the production are NHK, Kodansha, and NHK Enterprise.

There are new characters to be introduced in the series and they are

Akiho a new friend of Sakura’s who has transferred from Hong Kong and will be voiced by Minori Suzuki. She has a favorite stuffed animal is named Momo and has lived abroad for a long time in France, Germany, and so on.

Yuna, Akiho’s caretaker who is talented in making black tea and sweets, He will be voiced by Natsuki Hanae.

Starting off where the first series ended, Sakura Kinomoto alongside her friends, including her new boyfriend Syaoran, who had just returned to Tomoeda are entering into junior high. Trouble is on the rise as Sakura begins having a prophetic dream about a mysterious cloaked figure, all of the Sakura Cards turn blank and are rendered completely powerless.

Together with her her guardians and protectors Cerberus and Yue, she sets off to solve the mystery of her cards and in result of capturing the transparent cards she begins to use a new and much stronger mystical key and incantation.
