The Official PV of Overlord 2 is Now Out

The second season of the fantasy series, “Overlord” now has a official teaser promotional video released as of Saturday. Posted on the official website of the anime franchise, it is also revealed that the video will be making a debut on Friday at a screening event for the anime’s films.

It was back in March that news of a second season was first announced, and now the series is confirmed for January 2018 and has confirmed returning cast for the production. Returning as director for the new season is Naoyuki

“Overlord” has its start as a light novel series written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-bin. It was first released online in 2010 before Kadokawa’s Enterbrain begun publishing the series in 2012 and now has 12 volumes out. Followed after in November 2014 the manga adaptation of the series came out written by Satoshi Ōshio and written by Hugin Miyama. It is still running and has 7 volumes out.

As for the anime adaptation, it came out in July 2015 under the production of Madhouse and ran until September 2015 with a total of 13 episodes. Even after the end of the anime adaptation, there was a release of an OVA (original video animation) and an animation film series.

The OVA, which was released in September 2016, comprised of 6 stories which are titled, “Ple Ple Pleiades – Nazarick’s Greatest Crisis”, “And So, Total Maniac-Modified” Activates!", “Meeting With Pleiades”, “Let’s Chat With Shalltear!/Let’s Tangle With the Twins and the Bugs!/Pairing Up the Two Who Don’t Get Along”,“The Three are in Treasure House” and “NvN.” Each one told a different story involving Aines interacting with the guardians.

The film series comprised of two works and are mainly compilation works that was released in February and March 2017 respectively.

Set in the year of 2138, the story begins in Yggdrasil, a popular virtual world that is about to shut down. Momonga, a player with a skeleton mage avatar and the title of guild master makes the decision to stay logged in until the end of the game. However, even at the end of the game, he finds himself unable to logout and the NPCs have gained a life of their own. Not only this but he has discovered that the entire guild has been transported to a completely different world.
