“Mob Psycho 100” now has more details revealed for its anime event which was announced earlier in the day. Found on the official website of the manga series, the now known screening event will be taking focus onto the conman/”mentor’ of the series, Reigen.
The event is set to take place at Chiba’s Maihama Ampitheater on March 18, 2018 and is titled as the “Mob Psycho 100 Reigen: Shirarezaru Kiseki Reinōryokusha” a.k.a. “The Miraculous Unknown Psychic” event. It will be hosting cast members, Setsuo Ito the voice of Mob/Shigeo Kageyama, Takahiro Sakurai who plays as the “psychic mentor” Arataka Reigen, Akio Ohtsuka the voice behind Ekubo, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka the voice of Teruki Hanazawa, and Miyu Irino the voice actress for Ritsu Kageyama, along with the opening theme song performers MOB CHOIR.
Taking place at the event is a screening that will take center on Mob’s master Reigen as he gets the idea to write an autobiography. Included in the screening is a compilation of the television series along with new parts.
The story of the series tells of an 8th grade boy named Kageyama Shigeo a.k.a. “Mob.” He is a psychic so powerful that he locks away in order control his abilities. Working under his “mentor” Reigen, he makes use of his powers to exorcise evil spirits. However, the further he immerses in the world of exorcism and supernatural the more his pent-up emotions rises, and the moment he reached a 100% of his emotions, something unlocks within himself.
It was in April 2012 that the webmanga was first released and currently has a total of 14 volumes released. An anime adaptation of the series was released in July 2016 under the production of Bones and ran for a total of 12 episodes until September 2016.
On a different note, there has been previous report made of a live-action drama adaptation of the series already in production under TV Tokyo in collaboration with Netflix,Set to be released in 2018, Tatsuo Hamada will be playing as the protagonist himself. Other htan this there is also a January stage play also in the works with voice actor Setsuo Ito reprising his role as Mob from the anime.
