With a total of 300,000 ticket sales by September 3 and three months after its release on June 10, the KING OF PRISM anime franchise’s second film, “KING OF PRISM: PRIDE the HERO” has earned a total of 500 million yen. In addition to the announcement made by Mantan web, there are a number of other announcements released.
“KING OF PRISM” is a spin-off film of the third anime series, “Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live.” It was released in Japan in January 2016 and told the tale of a young man named Hiro, one of the students who aim to make it as big “Over the Rainbow” group and even more so earn the title of Prism King.
Before the film had reached its 500 million mark it already reached the hundred millions 40 days faster than the first film. By early July, the film had earned 300 million in profit and continous to grow the following of the franchise.
In regards to the other announcements; from September 23 to 20 there will be a screening of a newly-edited exhibition footage of “THUNDER STORM SESSION After Party!!!” to be followed after the film in eight selected theaters.
The screening is meant to be in commemoration of the upcoming release of the “KING OF PRISM: PRIDE the HERO Song & Soundtrack” album on September 27. More than the screenings and upcoming release of an album containing the voices of the group; there is something for theatergoers to receive as well.
That said item is a replica ticket “Over The Rainbow SUPER LIVE” which appeared in the first film.
In a special clip, Showtaro Morikubo, the voice of DJ COO will be guiding the listener with songs to be sung by Kazuki Nishina, Taiga Kagami, and Yamato Alexander, the “Over the Rainbow” group of the series.
“Over the Rainbow” are a male Prism show unit who made their appearance in the “Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live” series and formed as a team at the end of the series. The songs that the three will be singing include "Over the Sunshine!," “LOVE♥MIX,” and “EZ DO DANCE -STREET SPECIAL.”
