Pokemon GO officially launched in June 6 last year and as of today, it is still considered as one of the most popular downloaded game application in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
To celebrate its first anniversary, the game’s developer Niantic has come up some special game events which will officially be launched at the Pokemon Fest to be held in Chicago. In this event, players around the world will work together in order to unlock special in-bonuses. If you’re in the Chicago area, be sure not to miss to this once in a lifetime Pokemon event.
The event will start in July 22 from 11 in the morning to 8 in the evening (EDT) in Grant Park. Users from around the world will work together with the Chicago event attendees to unlock certain rewards which are based on the type of Pokemon they catch in that day alone. The duration of the unlock bonuses will be increased depending on the how much Pokemon you have caught at the event hours.
If the Chicago event players were able to catch enough in the Catch Challenge, a Mystery Challenge will unlock which they can join at the last hour of the event. An “extra-special bonus” will be unlocked for the Pokemon GO players around the world and will be able to receive the Global Reward on July 23 and 24. So be sure to log in to your Pokemon Go account during these dates. Aside from higher chances of unique Pokemon encounters and exclusive two-kilometer eggs at the park’s PokeStops, event attendees will also receive an exclusive in-game medal for participating.
Another Pokemon GO event will be happening in Europe in which a variety of Johto-region and Kanto-region Pokemon will appear on special zones. This is the perfect opportunity for players in the region to complete their Pokedex as some Pokemon that don’t normally appear in the area, will have a high chance of appearance. The event dates will be on August 5 (for Copenhagen, Prague, Czech Republic, and Denmark), August 12 (for Netherlands), and September 16 (Paris, France; Oberhausen, Germany; and Barcelona, Spain).
Those who will be catching Pokemon and take part in these events will able to battle “powerful and unique Raid Bosses” and catch Pokemon in special “Safari Zone” areas.
A “Pikachu Outbreak” event will be happening in Japan from August 9 to 15 to be organized by The Pokemon Company. The United Kingdom will also have a Pokemon GO event that will happen on July 22-23 in Chester, England. This event is in collaboration between the UK heritage organization Big Heritage and Niantic to be able “to curate historical location throughout the ancient of Chester within Pokemon GO to encourage community engagement and education.”
With more updates to happen soon, we are pretty sure that Pokemon GO will be one game application that would definitely stay for a long time.
