See a new side to the upcoming romantic series “Gamers!” as the official website of the series reveals author Sekina Aoi to be writing short stories on the official Twitter account as a countdown to the premiere of the anime series which is on July 13. Titled, “"Daily Special Twitter Short Stories", the stories will not be illustrated by the original illustrator of the series Saboten; but rather by a guest illustrator.
For those who may not be familiar, “Gamers!” is based of light novel that was first released in 2014 and currently has a seventh volume released since March. It features the tale of high school students and how their gaming lives each affect them.
The stars for this series is firstly Keita Amano, a young man who loves video games but at the same time endures a deep loneliness. Then there is the beautiful video club president Karen Tendou and Chiaki Hoshinomori, a feisty girl who constantly gets into fights with Keita for an unknown reason.
Lastly there is Tasuku Uehara, a young man who is apart from the group as he places a façade of being utterly satisfied with his life when in truth he loves video games.
The first of the daily stories will be released on Tuesday with nine posts under the title of “Aguri to FamiRes Kaigi” (Meeting With Aguri at a Family Restaurant); and it features Aguri in Keita. In the story the two are sitting in a restaurant and Aguri is discussing with Keita on how having gaming as a hobby is not good for him.
Instead she informs that he should take up farming as a hobby and imagines him as a protagonist of a television show titled “Farmers” where he would do various farm related tasks. The anime would have a weekly 5:00 a.m. airing on regional cable television. This fantasy us cut off however when Keita states that he holds no interest in farming.
The next story will be on the Twitter Account on Wednesday, but there have been no sneak peeks on who may be features in it, nor what the plot could be and how many posts it would take.
