Shintarō ASANUMA is Cast as Junichi Hashiba in Hajimete no Gal

The cast is officially out for the newest romantic comedy series, “Hajimete no Gal” via an update from the official site for the series along with a new key visual featuring the girls of the series.
“Hajimete no Gal” is based on a romantic comedy manga with the same name, created by Meguru Ueno in November 2015 and serialized in Kadokawa Shoten’s shōnen manga magazine Monthly Shōnen Ace. The manga series currently has 3 volumes and the anime is planned to have 10 or so episodes with an OVA.

The story of this romantic comedy tells of a high school boy named Junichi Hashiba and his struggle to find a girlfriend as the season of spring a.k.a. the season of love has arrived. Due to the urging of his friends, Junichi breaks the status quo by asking out the gyaru (gal) Yukana Yame. While rejected in the beginning, Shintarou somehow manages to get her to agree to go out with him, thus begins the tale of many firsts between the two.

Playing the spastic protagonist is Shintarou Asamuna, the voice behind the character Hiroto Maehara of “Assasination Classroom.”

Taking on the role of the female lead Yukana Yame is Yuki Nagaki, the voice actress behind Arisa Ahokainen of “Akiba’s Trip the Animation.”

Eri Kitamura, who has recently taken the role of Celica Arfonia in “Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor”, is playing as Ranko Honjou for the series.

Character Yuii Kashii is being voiced by Ayana Taketatsu, who played as Tsugumi in the action drama series “Guilty Crown.”

Acting as the voice for the character Nene Fujinoko is Yui Ogura, who most recently plays as Mayuki Hiiragi in “Hinako Note” as well.

The additional cast revealed are of Shintarou’s friends and they are:

Toshiyuki Toyonaga, the voice of Tsukumo in the prison comedy series “Nanbaka”, as Shinpei Sakamoto. Kenji Akabane, the voice actor of the character Tetsuo in “Sword Art Online” playing as Keigo Ishida. Lastly, Minoru Shiraishi, who played as Takeshi Saehara in “D.N Angel” is playing as Minoru Kobayakawa.

The anime will be making its debut on July 12 and will be broadcasted on multiple stations including AT-X, Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and Mie TV.
