Earlier this month, it had been reported that familiar calling card from the infamous thief “Lupin III” was spotted on the windows of the curry house branches CoCo Ichibanya a.k.a. CoCo Ichi. Speculation ran as the message left stated “I am coming to steal the treasure of CoCo Ichi. ~Lupin III.”
Now details have been released on what the relation between the “world famous thief” and the curry house chain is to be about and fans of the eighties anime and patrons of the curry house shall be excited to know that the two are indeed having a collaboration as confirmed on the official website where a visual has been posted of Lupin trying to sneak in wearing a CoCo Ichi uniform.
Also announced on the site are the official prizes of original merchandise up for grabs in a prize lottery that can be entered with their CoCo Ichi receipts with totals of at least 900 yen, which is about US$8 or otherwise they can use their smartphones to take pictures of their receipts or mail in their receipts for a chance to win.
The main prize to win at the lottery and a project give-away announced on the site is a yellow Fiat 500. Based on the Italian compact car that the character himself drives, it is the highest product to receive in comparison to the other products.
These products include 39 “Lupin the Third” spoons with diamond encrusted bullet holes to those who want to feel fancy while eating. Another, for those who are not only fans, but patrons to the star have a chance to win 80 mini refrigerators that look like safes with four kinds of Umagen curry.
For the other prizes, they include 300 gold bar-shaped curry plates with five kinds of CoCo Ichi curry, 300 gold bath towels, and 1,000 CoCo Ichi meal tickets worth 1,000-yen (US$9).
Alternatively, for those who spend at least 900 yen at CoCo Ichi restaurants, they have a chance to win other prizes with a separate prize lottery where prizes include drink tickets and six varieties of puzzle pin badges that fit together. In fact, unlike most lotteries, in this lottery, should one be unable to win the prizes have a chance of winning one of 500 complete puzzle pin badge sets by collecting three tickets.
